A massive thanks to everyone who came to our shop launch! We had a very busy day with loads of prizes being won.
Lots of our suppliers were pleased with our move and decided to help us celebrate by donating over £2k’s worth of prizes. We had a GoPro Camera, a mountain board, two skate boards, two scooters and tons of other snowboard related equipment to name but a few items given away. Everyone who came to our launch was given a ticket to choose what they wanted to win and put in for that raffle. There were several top prize raffles to enter.
Our suppliers didn’t want a scooter child wining a set of snowboard goggles and vice versa. So this way everyone was really pleased with what they won!
We also played family “Hot Shot Pong” where everyone had an opportunity to win a little something from the day – SexWax Car Air Fresheners, Tech Deck finger boards, Stance Snow Socks, Key rings and stickers etc there was loads of small prizes given away. Patchy our Labrador was very helpful at chasing the ball off the table if they missed!
We had family’s travel from as far as Wales, Bath, Bristol, Reading and Stroud! We even had customers come down and see us who we hadn’t seen in over 15 years! All had a lovely time drinking a glass of fizz or beer and snacking on our doughnuts whilst toasting our success.
Everyone commented on how nice the new showroom looked! They loved how we used the old skate park graffiti walls in the shop as a nod to the last 11 fun years at Newcombe Drive where we had the indoor skate park.
I think everyone was also shocked that it was Stuart the owner and a couple of staff members who had made the shop from scratch in two weeks flat. Being self employed and working to a tight budget we didn’t have the money to spend on fancy shop displays. So when people found it was us that had created the new showroom they nearly fell over! A few comments on how professionally fitted out the showroom looked which made us feel very proud!
