Started the weekend off riding at my SKD home spot Weston Shore on Friday for some training then went down to the Essex kite park for the BKSA RAW Power Kite Tour.
The wind was awesome but random at times, super thermal action and saw a tornado forming at one point, but apart from that it was super kite day’s ever day. I did lots of cool free riding that weekend, some nice hang time action on the new ramps and kickers they have at the kite park.
There were two special moments for me, one was witnessing ‘Dave Roberts’ going massive with big spins on his Flysurfer and buggy. The other was at the end of my last heat, I felt some funky gusts so I timed it right and sent my kite with all my might. I got a super floaty jump, I knew it was looking good when I heard people cheering in the background, I finished it off with a sweet heli loop landing. It’s all about the fun moments like this at events what makes them so fun for me to go to.
In the competition I did really well, there was some very skilled riding going down at the park that weekend and lots of cool riders, I managed to get 3rd place in the Pro KLB which I was super happy about. There level was really good at this competition, huge respect to all the competitors.
