SP Gadgets POV Buoy Floating Pole for GoPro is perhaps more useful & necessary than it first appears to be, its not just an expensive piece of plastic. The POV Buoy Floating Pole has two important jobs to carry out for you, one is make your GoPro float & visible and secondly to use a pole; this accessory is paramount for anyone wanting to use a GoPro in water, be it the sea or the comfort of a swimming pool.
The strong & study construction of the SP Gadgets POV Buoy Floating Pole gives it a premium feel & certainly makes it worthy of looking after your precious GoPro during your outings. During our three week test in which pole was used daily, it resisted any cosmetic damage & didn’t cause any annoyances or issues. The construction is also so solid that you can’t push or dent with ease. You won’t notice the weight of the pole, it weighs mere grams especially compared to the weight of the GoPro itself. The POV Buoy Floating Pole doesn’t provide any resistance in the water, making it easy to swim with.
For extra floatation and visibility it can used in conjunction with GoPro’s Floaty Backdoor accessory, we found this to be a great addition when out in rough seas.
A great selling point for the SP Gadgets POV Buoy Floating Pole is that it doesn’t require any additional accessories to work, you just need the screw found in your GoPro box. Also included in the package is a wrist strap, while you may not need this in a swimming pool or calm water, its incredibly useful while in rough seas or even on a boat.
Like any other pole it can function great above the surface too. It’s great for snapping quick selfies on the beach and talking videos & photos anywhere! A top tip for this accessory is to carry a phillips head screw driver with you, just so you can nip up the screw a little tighter than just finger tight.
This is one of our must have GoPro accessories for summer 2014.
