An ultra portable and read to hand wind meter which paired with your smartphone can offer you a multitude of information on screen. This device sits inside your headphone jack and using a free app for either Android or iOS it calculates an average wind speed taking into account gusts and lulls in the wind. Using the internal compass in your phone the Weatherflow Wind Meter also shows you the wind direction and allows you to share the results with friends online straight from the app.
These will make a welcome addition to anyones kit bag who requires local wind information to carry out the sports they do. We will be using these for power kiting and kitesurfing from now on.
