So on Tuesday, Pete and Harry took a little trip down to the new concrete skate park over in West Swindon. The two of them only managed to get half an hour in before the rain started but managed to grab a couple of photos before it got too wet!
The park has been built by Wheelscape Skateparks and does not disappoint! It might not be the biggest skate park around but the way that Wheelscape have incorporated each feature, means that it flows nicely. The design includes kooky features such as a pole jam and a unique bank to quarter at each end of a wall ride. It also has elements of coloured concrete, such as black concrete ledges and patches of red concrete around the park.
We asked Pete what his favourite feature of the skate park was and here’s what he had to say: “Before I arrived, I hadn’t really looked at the design so I didn’t really know what to expect but as soon as I got there, the park just looked amazing! Naturally, I went straight to the A-frame as they are one of my favourite things to skate. I cleared it to flat once and could instantly tell the park had been built well! The transitions just work really well.”
There’s no doubt that we will be seeing a lot of footage from the park over the course of the next few months popping up over on our Instagram page @atbshopskatewarehouse.
The fences are down and the park is ready to ride! We expect to see big things coming from this new park. Keep your eyes peeled for updates on the official opening day!
